A Special Sneak Peek at Our Brand-New Myrtle Beach Oceanfront Resort

Having joined our Holiday Inn Club Vacations family in 1995, John is our Executive VP of Sales. His mission is to exceed our customers’ expectations by maintaining trust and delivering a fantastic experience. As an avid golfer, one of John’s top travel memories is hitting the links in Scotland! Thad, our Senior VP of Resort Operations, believes that personalized experiences are the key to creating treasured, lifelong memories. One of his favorite vacation spots is Sint Maarten in the Caribbean, especially when boating is involved!

With its bright sun, white-sand beaches and boardwalk games, Myrtle Beach is one of the top vacation destinations for families, friends, golfers, couples, you name it.

And it’s an especially popular travel spot with our Club members, Owners and guests who LOVE our existing South Beach Resort.

We couldn’t help but take note of this area’s popularity, and we knew we had to take action.

So, we’re now introducing … drumroll please … our brand-new Myrtle Beach Oceanfront Resort!

With soft sands just steps away, gorgeous amenities, plenty of nearby activities and so much more, Myrtle Beach Oceanfront Resort is going to be a truly incredible addition to our resort network.

If you’re eager to learn more about this state-of-the-art property, we sat down with our Executive VP of Sales John Sutherland and our Senior VP of Resort Operations Thad Gregory to get the inside scoop.

Check it out below and get ready to “check in” when the resort officially opens in spring 2024!

Let’s start with what you both personally like best about Myrtle Beach!

John: As a golf enthusiast, Myrtle Beach has some fantastic golf courses. I think there are over 90 courses to choose from, so you get a lot of variety there.

Thad: I personally enjoy the beautiful beaches and the fact that there’s something for everyone. It’s a unique destination that’s popular for families, couples, work retreats, celebrations, the list goes on.

What makes Myrtle Beach such a great destination for our Club members?

John: We already have so many members who live within a 200-mile drive of Myrtle Beach and in the surrounding areas of the southeast, so it’s very easy for them to get to.

It’s family-oriented and being on the beach offers so many opportunities for them to have fun; it’s just a natural fit for what we offer at Holiday Inn Club Vacations®.

What drove the expansion into Myrtle Beach?

John: It’s always been a great destination! Myrtle Beach has been one of our most popular locations for over 10 years, so expanding to the oceanfront just made sense. It fits with what our Club members and guests look for and the four seasons make it perfect for a vacation ownership property.

Plus, we already have an amazing team at South Beach Resort, and it affords the opportunity for us to hire more great team members at the new one.

What will set this resort apart from our existing South Beach Resort?

Thad: What makes this resort special is that it’s only footsteps away from the beach. And when you’re at the resort itself, it has many unique amenities at the heart of the property, right in the center.

Then when you go inside the resort, you’ll see a coastal, modern theme throughout all the areas, especially when it comes to your first impression in the lobby.

All this combined really set it apart from any resorts we have right now.

Sounds amazing. Can you tell us more about all the resort’s amenities and activities?

Thad: The first big amenity is a natural one: the beach! Like I said, it’s just steps away with direct access that takes you straight to the sand.

At the resort itself, you’ll have a multi-level pool surrounded by hot tubs, a firepit with a lounge area, and food and drinks at the pool bar.

There will also be indoor and outdoor dining, activities you can do right onsite, covered parking, a fitness center and even an exclusive Club member lounge.

Ok, now we’re really picturing ourselves there. What will the villas be like?

Thad: The resort is going to have 152 villas with one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom accommodations for guests to choose from. They’ll be very spacious, ranging from 746 square feet all the way up to 1,900 square feet.

Along with that, the interior design of all the villas will have a coastal theme with modern amenities, just like the rest of the resort. And our accommodations will include our Signature Collection villas, which offer a premium, elegant feel.

What’s the number one thing you’re personally looking forward to at this resort?

Thad: I’m actually going to cheat a little bit and say two things. Number one is the views from the villa, especially the spectacular sunrises. Being right on the sand, you’ll get patio views that are unmatched to anywhere else on the beach or in this area.

And the other thing is the multi-level pool. It’s going to have a lot of water features in it, along with cabanas, hot tubs and a pool bar.

Whatever type of vacation experience you want, whether it’s a relaxing retreat or a fun family getaway, you’ll be able to experience it all at Myrtle Beach Oceanfront Resort.

What do you think our Club members and guests are going to be the most excited about?

John: I think they’re going to love the simple fact that we’re expanding in Myrtle Beach. Doubling the size of our footprint in this popular destination will make reservations much easier, especially in the summertime when there’s so much to do.

And one of the biggest benefits is that all the villas are going to be oceanfront with incredible views, like Thad mentioned.
