Not what it once was. They should take resort out of the name.

We stayed here 5 years ago and thought it was great. We came back this week for my daughter’s birthday and we were definitely disappointed by the way it is now. Although it is supposed to be a non smoking resort, every time we waited for the tram, people were smoking next to the pickup stops. We notified staff and they did nothing about it. We were barely able to use our oceanfront balcony due to the constant smell of people smoking marijuana on their balconies. Cigar wrappers were on our balcony from other guests throwing them off of their balconies.  The seaweed on the beach was stinky with no path to the ocean without walking through it.  Any other so called resort rakes the beaches to remove the seaweed. Here it just keeps piling up. We removed a needle from off the beach. It was capped, but definitely not what you want to see in the sand my family is walking through. My wife swept the floors as soon as we got into the room, due to them still being dirty from the previous guest. Thankfully there is a covered area to drop off the family at the building, but I had to run through pouring rain to get to the building. I had to park over a football field away from the building, due to the lack of parking at the building we stayed in/ building#2.  We ate at the restaurant the 2nd night and had good service and good food. We invited other family members to eat there with us the next night, but we were very disappointed. We had extremely slow service and the food was obviously precooked and reheated/ partially cold. I don’t understand how it can be such a dramatic difference from one night to the next at the same restaurant. We definitely will never eat there again. We arrived at 6 and didn’t get out of there until 7:45 waiting on food, Our drinks were empty for long periods of time. It seemed like the waitress on the second night did not care how poor the service was because she was going to get an automatic gratuity anyway. The movies played in the theater were not the movies listed for the times on the schedule. This wasn’t  a big deal since we liked the other movies playing, but it should coincide with the schedule. I would like to give credit to the staff for the kids crafts/ bead making and sand art. They were great. The check in process was way to long/slow. Checking into a hotel or as you are calling it a resort, should not take as long ad it does to buy a car. I used to recommend this place to others, but now I can really only say it is more like a wal-mart of resorts. I’m pretty sure this will just fall on deaf ears and nothing will get corrected here, but somebody needs to do something about this place.

Safe and secure

my husband and I appreciate staying and IHG specially when we went on a cruise to Cape Canaveral and then also when we go down to Disney, we stay at the IHG lake resort and we’re always well taken care of and safety is never one concerned and who comes in and we totally appreciate Staying there with our family and also you can use your points to stay in a hotel room or use partial points to make it cheaper

Great resort on space coast and relax on the beach

The resort was great I stayed in the signature building, which was great very modern. The pool area is nice. Has a slide and a lazy river it walking distance from the beach and a national park right next-door. However, some of the staff could use a little more training with customer satisfaction. my last night at the resort I stayed in the main building. I had an issue with the AC in the room now and when I mentioned it to staff, they tried to blame it on a power outage issue that was not the concern because my room had power, and the AC unit was on, long story short I spoke with the manager on duty and issue wasn’t resolved during my stay and I was only offered a room upgrade on my next stay assuming I would be coming back

The Holiday Inn Club Vacations Cape Canaveral Resort was an amazing experience for my family! The staff truly cared about us and our experience. The room was clean and beautiful, food was great, and the recreation was fantastic. We loved being able to hop in the shuttle to ride to the beach and back. The pool area was amazing! We soaked up beautiful weather by swimming, riding the lazy river and cruising down the water slide! We had a good time on Easter Day. We got to hunt for Easter eggs and enjoy playing Bingo. I, personally loved watching the huge cruise ships right from the pool area. Our stay was topped off by watching a launch just a short walk from the resort!

Not recommended

The only good thing about this hotel is the pool. We thought it was beachfront and it was not. The beach was about a 10-15 minute walk and the beach was not very nice at all. The restaurant onsite was not good at all either. There was no notice to us about the slide not being open and that was something we looked forward to. Miniature golf course was okay but not anything special, just something to pass time. The pool party with the kids was actually fun to watch and the gentleman who does it was funny. Will not stay again

dirty, outdated, and relentless time share sales pitches

This is like no other IHG property I have stayed at before. They could care less if you are a loyal member. They get extremely upset if you refuse the time share sales pitch, and they assign your room after you agree or decline them. If you decline you get a downgraded room. The food at the pool bar is overpriced and terrible. They charge an automatic 18% tip (without telling you) and pay little attention to the customers. Would not recommend this hotel

Amazing property

From the early check in to the amazing room and all the wonderful amenities, this is a great vacation destination! We stayed for two nights after a cruise and this was the perfect place to relax. We will definitely be coming back.

Old musky rooms, air barely works

Old and very dated. Looks were very deceiving. We were not impressed. My 5 year old child opened up what he thought was a closet door and was were the heat/air unit was, appeared to be wiring and other mechanical things out in the open were children shouldn't have access too. Also the air unit did not work well and the room was humid and warm all day and night. It wasn't worth what we paid for.

Find someone, anywhere else.

The pool is great, that’s where it ends. Some of the worst food we’ve ever had, that took exceptionally long to order and receive. Same for beverages. The smell of exhaust worts over from the cruise ships. And if they’re dredging , I hope you like a murky loud beach. And don’t want to sleep. They are very understaffed and the staff are not educated in the hotel policies leading us to have been provided bad information resulting in having to spend $100’s. If you’re a platinum member they might tell you you HAVE 2 pm check out , that’s a lie. There isn’t anything within walking distance either. After the checkout nightmare I cannot tell you how terrible of an experience this is. Go anywhere else. The pool isn’t worth it.
