There are better alternatives for the price
I arrived at 8:50pm on the check-in day. There were several employees behind the desk (and one person already being checked in). I was told that they were "closing soon and I'd have to wait 10 minutes and check in with security after the desk closed." Their closing time was 9:00pm, I had pre-paid my reservation through Expedia, so check-in should at most take 5 minutes. After some polite discussion, they agreed to check me in then. I also learned that the elevator in the building I was assigned to was broken. Not a huge deal, but because the first floor of these buildings is not used (probably for potential hurricane avoidance), our 2nd floor suite was really 3 flights of stairs up. Now exercise isn't a bad thing, but several trips up and down three flights of stairs to load or unload will break a sweat in 90 percent humidity. Another issue I was disappointed with is the infinity pool had restricted access. Understandable, but I wish they'd been more upfront with this on the site photos. Finally, more than 48 hours after checkout, I received a phone call after 8:00pm. My phone automatically rejects any calls after 8pm that aren't on my "allow list" (family, job, etc). The caller did not leave a voicemail. The number was a Galveston number, so I called it back this morning and a person answered with "Guest Services." I mentioned that I'd received a call and I wanted to make sure everything was okay. She didn't look up my account to see if there were any problems, notations or points of discussion. I asked for a manager and was told she was the only one there. I asked when a better time would be call back, and her answer was "tomorrow after 9:00am". According to her, there would be no one who could help me all during the business day today, and I should "call back tomorrow." There were good things about the facility. I ordered a suite (that was basically two combined 1 br apartments) that was roomy and comfortable. Both apartments had full kitchens, which is great when you're a family of six. The room was clean and comfortable. For better or worse, this place is at least a 30 minute drive from say, East Beach in Galveston. That can be good if you want quiet and peaceful, but also needs to be considered when planning activities.

Only place we stay on Galveston Island
This place is so nice. The beds are so comfortable and that’s a big deal to me. It’s quiet and peaceful. The balconies have nice views. The kitchen had everything I needed to prepare a nice meal for my family. Thank you for taking such good care of the property.

Excellent vacation Club
This was our first stay in a Holiday Inn Vacation Club. We were so pleasantly surprised. The villa and grounds were amazingly clean and had everything we could have needed. We slept so well because it was very quiet. Also, th.ere were a lot of outdoor amenities. We will definitely be staying again in the near future.
Yes, I recommend this property.

Senior Get Away
The property is nice, but not senior or handicap accessible. The property check-in desk pop a timeshare presentation on you at check-in before you can get your door key. I didn’t come for a timeshare presentation out of t pyramid time. Feeling a little pressure, I accepted the invite. I showed up for presentation with my heart constantly and was turned away because my spouse who also that wasn’t aware of a presentation until checking. No elevators. Just stairs to property unit on the on the 2nd, third and 4 th floors.
No, I do not recommend this property.
Old school
Stay
If you're looking for a getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city then this is the perfect getaway. You have to come prepared to cook or bring your food with you. The store is expensive. Cheaper in Galveston. One of the nicest stays I had this year. Relaxing, the room and balcony looked out over the pool and ocean. PERFECT!!!!!

Not seaside. Actual pool is roadside .
I wasn’t expecting 5-star treatment from a 3-star hotel chain, but this Holiday Inn definitely falls into 1-star territory. First, don’t be fooled by the pictures — this is not a seaside resort. Only one building sits in front of the sea, and that’s reserved for timeshare buyers. The pool you see in the photos is also off-limits to most guests. Instead, you’re stuck with a disappointing roadside pool (see pictures). I complained since I have IHG status, and only then was I “upgraded” to access the beachside pool. On weekends, the pool fills up with drunk locals who are friends of the staff, making it far from a relaxing experience. Rooms are clean, but they come with a heavy humidity smell and visible corrosion. And despite booking through IHG, they still aggressively push their timeshare sales — expect pressure at check-in, offers of money or gift cards, and invitations to “meetings.” Decline it all. Bottom line: this place feels more like a trap than a vacation. Definitely not up to Holiday Inn standards.
