A family weekend gathering.

Family members gathered from different parts of the US to have a reunion and a celebration of life. A number of us stayed at the Mount Ascutney Resort. We enjoyed the amenities and the convenience of being near each other yet being able to seek solitude when we chose.

Yes, I recommend this property.

Disappointing stay.

Was looking forward to visiting this resort but was sadly disappointed. I arrived with my family at 3:10. A bit early yes, but as an ihg platinum elite member I figured an early check in would not be an issue. Anyway my room was not ready and was told I would be texted. Hung out around the property and by 3:50 went back to ask about my room. I was told it had to be inspected and to give them 15 mins more. I asked about another room and was told that I cannot be upgraded because of the type of room I booked. Anyway I was checked in at 4:20. No apologies, no acknowledgement of my ihg status…basically no friendly, welcoming customer service. This just made the whole stay start off really bad. Got to the room to realize it’s maybe a handicap accessible room so figured that was why I was told I cannot be upgraded or given another room. I was upset with this room because it was close to the parking lot and the entrance and we hardly got proper sleep because motor bikes woke us up very early the next morning. Going back to the room choice…at the time of check in, the person at the front desk could have asked if a handicap accessible room was necessary after observing my family of 6 abled individuals. She could have asked if we were ok being reassigned another room to book us in earlier but nothing was observed or asked. I must say as well that I did not need such a room. I had to book that room because it was the ONLY room that was available at booking. Other than the front desk unwelcoming, the ridiculous location of our room and not enough badminton rackets for 4 players, we did like the resort. Unfortunately we will not return to this resort because of our experience. I have taken my family to many holiday inn vacations club resorts over the years and this one has definitely been the worst. A bit of training for your front desk staff is desperately needed.

Holiday Inn - Brownsville, VT

Excellent Hotel, beautiful grounds and location. Great staff and amenities, would, and will, definitely return. Only issue I had was not getting our meals after 2+ hours at The Maple Kitchen on Sat'd night, 07/12/25. If someone could contact me regarding that, that would be great. Thank you!

Yes, I recommend this property.

Clean accommodations & Nice Views.

Stayed in the Bennington building for 2 nights, in a one bedroom apt. Front Desk - Not especially welcoming at check in. No acknowledgment of being an IHG rewards member. The lady at the front desk the following morning wasn't any better. No smile, just not a welcoming attitude. The young lady working the front desk on my second morning was the exception--very friendly and accommodating. Apartment - Very clean. Nice view of the hills from the windows. Comfortable bed. Convenient plugs for charging electronics. Kitchen stocked with all necessities. The bathroom was small with no counter space. The towel rack hung over the toilet with large towels that hung almost touching the toilet tank and covered the tissue box sitting on the toilet tank. Overall, with the exception of the kitchen, the apt needed updating. Restaurant - Not made to feel welcome. Was told I would need to wait in the lounge until some of the folks currently at tables were done (even though there were several empty tables). Or I could sit at the bar. I chose to sit at the bar because I got the feeling I might get forgotten about if I waited in the lounge. I had a different waitress at the bar than the one that had greeted me at the door, thank goodness. I could tell my waitress was fairly new but she was very friendly. The food was okay but on the pricier side but to be expected given the location. Location - This property seems more geared towards a winter destination to take advantage of the skiing in the area. Likely a whole different atmosphere in the winter months for the ski crowd. There didn't seem to be a lot of activities going on while I was there but I didn't choose to stay here for the resort itself but rather it was convenient for the reason I was in the area.

Villa stay

We stayed in the Villas on the outer areas of the property, in an ADA unit. Had all the amenities we needed. Made good use of the fully equipped kitchen. Was quiet and relaxing. There were 2 ADA parking spaces in front of the building. A couple times both spaces were occupied, so we had to park farther out, which was not ideal but OK.

Yes, I recommend this property.

Great Stay

They have a beautiful property and everyone was lovely. One thing that stood out was that people were actively working on the grounds and keeping everything in order. At first it felt like it was in the middle of nowhere, but ones we learned the surrounding towns, it didn't feel that way anymore. I stayed here for the Covered Bridge Half marathon and although it was a little further than some people were staying, I felt like it was a perfect location.

Great Stay

Loved having the full kitchen and living area. Gym is nice, but needs more attachments for the cable machine.
