a good place for a weekend hideout but...

Overall, the property offers a pleasant experience. The resort is spacious, peaceful, and well maintained, with excellent facilities for families with children as well as groups of friends. It is also a great place for a quiet weekend or holiday getaway, and these are all aspects that I genuinely appreciated. Unfortunately, my departure experience left me quite disappointed. At around 8:30 a.m., I sent a text message to the property team to inquire about the possibility of a late check-out but did not receive a response. I then called the reception at approximately 9:00 a.m. and was informed that the latest available check-out time would be 10:30 a.m. As an IHG Diamond Elite member with Club access who was travelling with my family and young children, I politely requested whether an extension until around 11:30 a.m. could be accommodated. I fully understand that late check-out is subject to availability, and I have no issue when genuine occupancy constraints prevent it at all, which is fact-based. However, I was advised that the request could not be accommodated because the property was operating at approximately 50% staffing capacity. The explanation focused on staffing limitations rather than guest occupancy, and I was repeatedly reminded that late check-out is provided only when available. From a guest's perspective, it was difficult to understand why an operational staffing issue should directly affect a published elite benefit. Moreover, as this was a Sunday morning rather than a peak Friday or Saturday departure, it seemed unlikely that occupancy alone would have prevented even a modest one-hour extension. What disappointed me most was not simply the refusal, but the manner in which it was communicated. Rather than feeling that my request was genuinely considered, I felt I was being lectured about the policy, without much empathy for our circumstances as a family travelling with children. I remain appreciative of the property's many strengths, but this experience fell short of the level of hospitality and elite recognition I have consistently received at other IHG properties, where late check-out requests are generally handled with greater flexibility whenever operationally feasible. I hope this feedback is helpful and that the property will consider a more guest-focused approach to handling similar requests in the future.

A great place to stay in Vermont!

My husband and I were very comfortable at this lovely hotel. The Villa was beautiful, clean and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The drawback was the pool area was under construction and not available. The restaurant was not open on Tuesday and Wednesday while we were there so we couldn’t enjoy a cocktail or snack when we returned to the hotel in the late afternoon. I wish we had known that ahead of time because we simply would have changed our arrival date.

Fine

I booked a 1 bedroom suite and was upgraded on arrival to a 3 bedroom 2-level suite. The grounds are well kept and the hotel interior is clean. The property is on the more basic side, but was sufficient for a two night stay in the area. The restaurant on property is not open every day, so find out their hours before planning on eating there. The price was high for the portion size. A/C worked very well.

Great 3 br/3 ba stay for large group

GREAT STAY FOR LARGE GROUP! We stayed in a 3br/3ba villa. Kitchen was well stocked and easy to find everything you need to cook for your family! There are 2 levels. The upstairs has its own unsuited bathroom with 2 dbl beds. The other bedroom upstairs was 2 twins. It also had a little sitting area and storage room that was HUGE! You could have even put someone in there with an air mattress! The living area was lovely with vaulted ceilings and a fireplace. It also had a beautiful balcony out back!! The 3rd bedroom is downstairs with a detached bathroom. I would have loved to stay longer. The area is breathtaking with the mountains behind !

I highly recommend a stay at this Holiday Inn resort. It is in a nice location not too far from various places to visit and has a great staff that is very helpful, accommodating and friendly. Make sure you have dinner at the Maple Kitchen! Great restaurant with a nice menu and great food!

Excellent place to stay

We were attending a family function in Windsor. This was the most reasonable for 3 siblings. We shared a 3 bedroom suite which was wonderful. It was large. We each had our own bathroom. There was a shared living room, and a smaller area in the loft. A full kitchen with dishwasher, oven, refrigerator, microwave and coffeemaker. It is a regular coffeemaker, not a keurig, but there is free coffee downstairs from 7-10am also. Bring filters if you bring coffee for the room. There was a balcony and a fireplace (electric). Plenty of shared living room areas downstairs too if you want to find a nook to escape to. The dining room was fabulous with excellent food and service with a full bar. There is a movie theater, an activities room and plenty of outdoor hiking. They are redoing the outdoor pool so that was closed, but it seems like it’s going to be fantastic. I could easily stay here for an extended vacation. It’s lovely.

Not so great

I have used this hotel on 3 other occasions and have usually been pleased. This time things were not right. I had requested a very specific room type. Three bedrooms with 1 King, 2 doubles and 2 twins. There were 6 of us staying together. I specifically mentioned that I needed a 1st floor room. Last year they put us on the third floor with no elevator. This year 2 of us had limited ability for using stairs. It took quite a while to straighten out the mess of a 3 bedroom with only 4 beds. Then I was told they could put us in a 3 bedroom on the the 3rd floor. Hello, are you listening. I told them again, that does not work. Several times I had to explain myself. The person checking us in was new and was not sure what could be done. I don't blame her. She tried to accomodate, but there no rooms left that fit us. The best they could do was give me another room with 2 bedrooms on the 1st floor and the other room with 4 people was on the 2nd floor. I was nice the whole time, but very disappointed that I could not get what I asked for. I booked it almost a year ago and called several times to make sure they would have the room with the beds I knew we needed. It had been a long day and this was unnecessary. Why to they give away my room when I was very SPECIFIC with my reservation.
