Unresponsive staff

Responsiveness to issues and communication is non existant if you check in late. We arrived for late check in after midnight the night we arrived. We called the number on the sign on the door and the security guard who answers said she was on an erand would return in 15 minutes, so we were forced to stay outside in the dark in an area we did not know at all. When she did show up, without telling us, she issued temporary keys to our rooms. The next day we all go to the pool and have a nice time, then discover that we are locked out of our rooms. We call the front desk and the clerk tells us we were supposed to return to the reception desk that morning to pay the security deposit (that we knew nothing about) and get permanent keys. Once they realized we weren't told, they took more than 30 minutes to come to our room (that was down the road from the main property more than a mile away so there was not an easy way for us to walk to reception and our car keys were locked in the room) while we were stuck outside in the heat. We won't be back.

Nice place to relax

I enjoyed my short stay. Beautiful place to disconnect from everything. Please bathrooms should be cleaned, sink and shower were so dirty.

Room smelt like fish

The location is beautiful, amenities are great, my room smelt like fish. I ended up leaving early. I did like the access to all pools, and all the activities they had for the kids. I would recommend this.

Room for improvement

Great activities for kids. However, would never stay here again. The room was not clean, the were zero amenities and the handicap room requested was no where near handicap accessible.

Great place

Great place for a family vacation, lots to do! Could use an updating but overall very good.

Clean but over crowded.

We booked this hotel for our anniversary. Friendly staff and clean rooms. Child friendly. Pool was saltwater which is awesome but was so over crowded we got hit in the head twice by two different kids. One with a toy another with a football. Nothing relaxing about the pool. Our bed was comfy but they need curtains in the windows. My husband couldn't sleep because the parking lot lights were in his eyes all night, very bright. Upstairs neighbors were loud until 1 in the morning. We thought about calling the police. There was no courtesy Lobby number to call, we only had a number that went directly to reservations. Did not know beforehand we would be responsible for stripping beds, doing dishes etc. Did not know beforehand we would be charged $10 just for checking in, why? No explanation. There was No wifi in our room as advertised on the website. We even asked the front desk. Nope. Food at the grill was good and the grill staff was probably my favorite thing about the hotel. They were so accommodating and had such good attitudes. Also the handmade mojito was delicious until some kid splashed pool water in it.

Enjoyed the views

Enjoyed the room stay. Comfy beds and spacious. Kids enjoyed Amenities and pool. Quiet and noce views in resort and during druve.

Great stay!

Overall a fantastic stay. Wish it would rain a bunch and the lake would fill up....

Loved our stay at this location, it felt secluded yet it was close to lots of activities.

We love the Canyon Lake area and proximity to groceries and some food. Then a short drive away was the comforts of most larger cities with Gruene, New Braunfels, and more within a 20 minute drive. We will certainly be back.

Great for both family time and relaxing

We stayed in a villa not far from pools and main amenities. The selection of movies was great, staff was welcoming and helped every request. It started to rain pretty bad but the staff adjusted the activities for children and made them have fun still, not just mine, a large amount of kids from different parties, it was such a wonderful experience I can't wait to book next time! The only con I experienced was used soap and a used washcloth in one of our restrooms.... yeah it made a "yuck" feeling but we got new supplies and were good to go.
