Long weekend with uninvited guests

Stayed here many times so this was not a new place for us. The bugs were all over the room. Killed many just to be able to sleep the first night. They were in the bedroom and bathroom. Pest control needs to be stepped up as they were all over the stairs wells. Elevators only worked going up. Had to go down to the first floor and send the elevator up to floor 3 to get things and people down. Property is getting older and it is not being taken care of so be aware of this when booking.

Yes, I recommend this property.

Great place to stay!

If you stay at the beach club, you have to check out the beach and sunset. Absolutely amazing! Good fishing down there as well. The rooms at the beach club are very nice and roomy. Overall, pretty well taken care of, but was a little disappointed that we could not get a higher floor for a better view due to the elevator not working. The main bar and grill also offers some good choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner and lots of drink choices as well. The one thing I must state though is don't count on the Marina being opened. They seem to close on a whim.

Yes, I recommend this property.

Spider webs and uncomfortable bed

I recently stayed with my husband, and unfortunately, it fell far below our expectations. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the sight of spider webs everywhere, which set a very unwelcoming tone for our visit. The cleanliness of the hotel was certainly lacking, making the overall experience feel quite uncomfortable. The bed was particularly problematic; both my husband and I ended up waking each morning with aches in our hips, backs, and shoulders. We struggled to find a comfortable position, which made for restless nights. Additionally, the walk up the stairs to our room was less than ideal, and it compounded our frustrations. The back patio, which we hoped to use to enjoy the lovely view, was overtaken by spider webs as well, making it impossible to relax outside. I even took it upon myself to knock down some of the webs by the back room door, but it didn't significantly improve the situation. Overall, our stay was disappointing, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel unless major cleanliness and comfort improvements are made. We certainly won't be returning.

Weekend stay

For most hotels you strewn required to pay a deposit. Not only are you forced to pay a deposit, but they don't offer a continental breakfast in the morning. They have garden tubs with jets that aren't cleaned properly, and the shower curtain doesn't appear to be changed regularly either.

Horrible

Mold on the sheets

Location was great but the sheets and bedding had mold on it and didn’t notice until the second day when we were making the bed up and by then we contracted a upper respiratory infection also everything was not inclusive there was a charge for everything especially the water slide should be free for us rewards members and 300 per night

Clean room

The water park was fun we chose to stay the night with plans of going to the water park following day. But we didn’t get any sleep due to a loud party being held next to our room they went until 2-3am then the upstairs guest were non stop walking around. If your looking to book I definitely recommend a villa on top no ground levels.

Part-time time-off

My car was damaged and nothing was done with the security.

Absolute Garbage Hotel

I've traveled all around the world with the military and now as a business consultant and this is one of the worst experiences of 30+ travel years. This IHG property was near a client's business so I took my wife along for an overnight stay. The cottages are 40+ years old and in terrible disrepair. The bathtub was literally falling apart with chunks of fiberglass on the floor. The furniture in the "activity center" grill was ripped and badly torn. And get this: This "lake" resort is over a mile from the lake. Yes, they have a waterpark and pools on grounds but you CANNOT walk to the lake from the cottages. Well, technically you can walk but it will take an hour down dangerous roads. We spoke with an employee at the aforementioned grill and apparently the property is closing soon, which makes sense. It's a dilapidated disaster of a "resort." Avoid this at all costs. IHG, you should be ashamed.

50th Wedding Anniversary Family Gathering!

We were drawn to the resort by its proximity to our homes near Dallas to make it convenient for the kids and grandkids to join us in celebrating our 50th Anniversary. With an adjoining waterpark, lake, and pools it was the ideal setting. The staff throughout the entire resort was terrific. Security was everywhere, lifeguards were attentive, and food and beverage outstanding.

Yes, I recommend this property.
